Why not visit Harshead Pike?, Around a 4 mile walk from The Hawthorne, you can be over looking the whole of Manchester, Saddleworth and beyond, with its 360 degree view point . Hartshead PIke was rebuilt in 1863 by John Eaton to commemorate the marriage of Albert Edward to Princess Alexandra, replacing a building that had been there since 1751.  More info by clicking the link below
